Kerygma Class                         September - August

Kerygma is a Greek word, originally meaning the proclamation of a herald.
The early Christian church gave the word a new meaning, and in the New
Testament the word Kerygma is used to indicate the message announced by
the church of Jesus Christ. Come and join this Sunday morning class as we
focus on a particular theme, topic or book of the Bible.

Engaged - Newlywed Couples Class    March 9, 16, 30, April 4, 11 & 18

This is a class for engaged couples or newly weds. Together we will look at the joys and challenges of building a strong Christian marriage. This six-week class plus the day of recognition will be on Sunday, April 18th. This class is essential for couples planning a wedding at First Presbyterian Church.

SACRAMENTS CLASS - 4 Sundays starting January 20 during the 11 :00 service
Parents, have you explained Communion to your children? In the Presbyterian Church, all the faithful are invited to the Lord's Supper. That includes believers and their baptized children. If you would like help teaching your children about Communion and Baptism, plan on attending the Sacrament Class with your children 4 Sundays starting January 20 during the 11 :00 service after the Children's Sermon. Class is taught by Judy Somershoe, Minister to Children. Call her for information or sign up at the Adult Ed. Table in Boll Fellowship Hall after the worship service on Sundays.

Healthy, satisfying, and successful marriage. He draws on insights from surveys of over

two thousand single and married persons, from experiences shared by couples he interviewed,
from reflections based on fifteen years of counseling individuals and couples, and from his
own experiences in marriage. Most importantly, he draws on insights from the Bible to
help make love last a lifetime.

You may purchase the book Making Love Last a Lifetime by Adam Hamilton for $9. These books will be available at the beginning of the year.

Disciple Bible Study is an exceptional opportunity for all members of FPC to finding new meaning in the Bible. The messages are amazingly clear and relevant for our lives today. For information and/or pre-registration, please call: 248-349-0911.

Disciple I - Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study. (2) Class Offerings
Note: Disciple I is a Survey Course and a Prerequisite for Disciple II, III and IV
This is the seventh year of Disciple study at FPC. From 2000-2007 (57) members of our church family have taken on the challenge of Disciple I and many have gone on to advanced classes and facilitator leadership. The (34) weekly, two-hour sessions include DVD presentations by outstanding seminary professors and theologians, insightful study lessons, in-depth Bible reading, prayer and especially fellowship and friendship in Christ. Two class offerings of (8-12) invite and encourage open and respectful dialogue.

Disciple IV – The Psalms and Revelation. (2) Class Offerings
Note: Prerequisite Disciple I
On Monday evening and Wednesday morning we will explore the extraordinary richness and diversity of the Psalms and the hope of Revelation. The (32) weekly, two-hour sessions follow the Disciple format balancing study in the Old and New Testaments. Any one who has completed Disciple I is encouraged to join us.

is for you. In an introduction to the basics of Christian faith, we will address these questions and others in a style that is readable and easy to understand. Here you will find answers about Christianity.
Pastor Clise starts from scratch and clearly explains the essentials of the Christian faith.


Yoga Class & Bible Study

Plan now to join us for a one hour yoga class followed by a half hour Bible study. Yoga challenges the mind and strengthens the body. It also promotes relaxation, improves circulation,
improves concentration and increases energy. This is a great way to prepare for a mindful Bible
study and to have a more full and healthy life. Ann Werther, a member of the Church, is an ACE certified Fitness Instructor and personal trainer with over 10 years experience. The fee is $50 per session. Childcare will be provided.

Small Group Bible Studies

Small fellowship groups are an important part of personal and spiritual growth. Jesus had a small group (the disciples) and the early church followed Jesus model and met regularly for small group fellowship. (Acts 2:42-47). All at First Presbyterian Church are welcome to seek a small group in which to participate and share in Christian growth. The small groups listed meet year-round.

Agape Women’s Bible Study

An on-going women’s Bible study using various thematic programs. This group offers a time for prayer, discussion and support. Emphasis is on life application of the Scriptures. Child care is available. $3.00 for one child, $5.00 for family

Eight by Eight In - Home Bible Fellowship
6:00 - 7:30 p.m. 2nd & 4th Sunday
