Adult Fellowship



Dinner for 8, Spring- April, May, and June
This is an opportunity to join other church members in a small group at a home for dinner and fellowship. The groups will meet once a month for the 3 months. Everyone brings a dish to pass and the host provides the main course. Sign up for groups will begin in December and will meet either on Sunday evenings or Saturday evenings.


Presbyterian Women is open to all women of the church. Contact Virginia Cavarerta for details on programs.
Association meetings will be held on the first Wednesdays in October, December, April, and June. We will host the White Breakfast on Ash Wednesday. New members, as well as active members, are invited to attend these meetings. They are also encouraged to attend monthly Circle meetings September through May.
What is a Circle? A Circle is a ring of women who support each other through Bible study, commitment to mission, and fellowship.

New Horizons Ministry
New Horizons Ministry meets once a month and is organized to provide an environment of fellowship, learning and social interaction through activities and service for people age 50 and over.


Tour of Focus Hope of Detroit - Lunch - Tour of the Village of Oakman Manor of the Presbyterian Village of Michigan - Thursday, April 17, 2008.
Focus Hope of Detroit is a place where people are trained for the future to work as craftsman and engineers for the auto industry and other industries in our industrialized and technological world. Focus Hope’s genesis began from a idea of Father William Cunningham. Focus Hope is supported by First Presbyterian Church Mission & Outreach. We will have lunch at Focus Hope. Across the street from Focus Hope is the brand new Village of Oakman Manor of The Presbyterian Villages of Michigan. This is a great asset for the Community of Detroit. Oakman Manor is one of the 18 Ministries of Presbyterian Villages of Michigan.

Tipping Point Theatre of Northville and Dinner at Rocky’s Restaurant   Sunday, May 4, 2008.
New Horizons will be going to the brand new theatre of Northville, the Tippiing Point, to see
Manuscript. Tickets are $16. Afterwards New Horizons will go to Rocky’s of Northville for dinner, great food and fellowship. For more information about New Horizons you may call Lois and Nils Karlson.

New Horizons Tiger Day at Comerica Park Thursday, June 12 at 11:25 am
Detroit Tiger Fans - the Detroit Tigers will be playing the Chicago White Sox on Thursday, June 12 at 1:00 pm.
New Horizons will depart from First Presbyterian Church at 11:25am to go to Comerica Park. Tickets are $20. Tickets must be purchased by Sunday, June 1 st in Boll Fellowship Hall or at the church office. New Horizons has a limited number of tickets. Come and enjoy beautiful Comerica Park as the Detroit Tigers will play Chicago White Sox. Tickets are on sale.

 

Purpie Rose Theatre Friday, July 18th at 6:30 pm
Hard on the heels of Escanaba in Love, Jeff Daniels introduces his first Western. This winsome comedy tells the fateful tale of a prairie showdown between a vagrant outlaw and a singing cowboy. Thrown together by unfortunate circumstances, Panhandle Slim and the Oklahoma Kid argue the virtues of mayhem, music and the meaning oflife. The World Premiere features original songs, as well as scoundrels, six-guns and a horse named Buttermilk.
Afterwards we will go to Chelsea Common Grille for dessert. You may start to sign up in May.

 

New Horizons Picnic    Monday, August 25 at 6:30 pm
The grill will be ready and hamburgers and hot dogs will be great. The New Horizons Picnic will take place at the home of Jim and Judy Russell. We will gather at 6:30 pm and you are asked to bring a dish to pass which will include one of the following: an hors d'oeuvre, a side dish or a dessert. We will have entertainment and we ask for $5.00 for the main food and entertainment. Refreslmlents and paper supplies will be provided. You may sign-up for the New Horizons Picnic in the Boll Fellowship Hall or you may call the church at 248 349-0911.

 

Cornwell's Dinner Theater Thursday, September 18 at 10:15 am
Church Basement Ladies - This is perfect entertainment for everyone. Good, clean laughs, memorable and hysterical characters, plus wonderful clever music and nostalgia. Join the Church Basement Ladies as they keep coffee brewing, stomachs full, and the Pastor on due course throughout the church year. Tickets will go on sale in July. We will depart from the Boll Fellowship Hall at 10:15 am and will arrive at Cornwell's Turkeyville at 11 :45 am. Dinner will be served at 12 noon. The dinner will include crisp salad, followed by home-cooked turkey dinner. Our dinner will include mashed potatoes and sage dressing topped with savory gravy. Included on the buffet will be two seasonal vegetables. Your Dinner Theatre Buffet finishes on a scmmptious note with three choices from the delicious homemade dessert menu. Tickets are $36.50 which includes the play and dinner.
