How Do I Become a Member?

If you would like to unite with this congregation, you may do so by:

1) Profession of faith and baptism.
2) Profession of faith alone, when baptism took place at an earlier age.
3) Reaffirmation of faith when previous church membership has lapsed.
4) Letter of transfer from another church.

New Member / Inquirer classes are held four times each year, with one evening session and two Sunday morning sessions each. Please call the church at (248) 349-0911 to sign up for these classes.

Fall Classes:

Sunday, Feb. 24, 5:00 pm, pizza
Sunday, March 2, 9:30 am
Sunday, March 9, 9:30 am - Received as new members at 11:00 am service

Sunday, May 4, 5:00 pm, pizza
Sunday, May 11, 9:30 am
Sunday, May 18, 9:30 am - Received as new members at 11:00 am service

Summary of New Member/Inquirer Classes

Class I (Sunday evening class - 5:00 p.m.)
Pastor Clise and Pastor Russell meet with prospective members in an informal setting for conversation, sharing and Bible study. Pizza and salad are served for dinner. Babysitting is provided.

Class II (Sunday morning class - 9:30 a.m.)
Pastor Russell reviews the First Presbyterian Church of Northville and the opportunities provided. Several committee moderators and officers of various groups speak about the ministries available at our church.

Class III (Sunday morning class - 9:30 a.m.)
Pastor Russell and Session members meet with the new members and
discuss the journeys that brought them to First Presbyterian Church of Northville. A short Session meeting is held to receive the new members. Pictures of the new members are taken at this time.

Same day as Class III (Sunday morning during 11:00 service)
At the 11:00 a.m. church service, the new members are introduced to the Congregation and received into membership.
